This notice explains how Tapp Technologies Ltd uses personal information for the tapp app — the briefing we send you and the newsfeed of things you asked to follow.

01

Who this notice is for

Tapp Technologies Ltd (company number 14628084) is the controller. Our registered office is The Willows, Castlelevingon, Yarm, TS15 9PB, United Kingdom.

This notice covers people on the waitlist, subscribers, newsfeed users, and anyone who leaves their details at one of our event booths. The tapp app is for people in the United Kingdom who are 18 or over. It is not for children.

Questions, access, correction, and deletion go to jack@snapps.co.uk.

02

What we collect

We collect the name, email address, and mobile number you give us, the topics you ask to follow, your delivery time and timezone, and any referral code you use or share.

We also keep the emails you send us, how you use the newsfeed, and technical events such as whether a briefing was opened or a link was clicked.

If you take part at an event booth, we may record audio and a transcript after we have confirmed that with you in person.

03

How we use it

We use this information to run the briefing and the newsfeed, remember what you asked to follow, and send email. When we offer text messages, we may use your mobile number to contact you about the service. You can ask us to stop.

When you sign up we send a conversion event to Meta, TikTok, Google, and LinkedIn so we can measure and improve our advertising. We do not upload customer lists to those platforms, and we do not sell your data.

We also use this information to keep the service safe and to improve the product. We rely on the contract to provide the app, on our legitimate interests in running and measuring the service, and on your consent where we record at a booth or where the law requires it for text messages.

04

Who we share it with

We use other companies to help us run the app — for hosting and the database, sending email (including whether a message was opened or a link was clicked), background jobs, writing and research, product analytics, and the advertising platforms named above.

Your subscriber record is stored with our database provider. A request to the website still passes through our host.

05

Where it is processed

Your account data is stored in the European Union (Ireland). Several of these companies process information in the United States. When that happens, your information leaves the United Kingdom.

06

How long we keep it

If you ask us to delete your account, we anonymise it. We keep send, open, click, and analytics logs for 12 months, then we remove or anonymise them.

07

Your choices

To unsubscribe, or to ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, email jack@snapps.co.uk. Those requests are not available from inside the app yet.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, email us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies are described on the Cookie policy page. If we change this notice we will update the date under the title.

08

The booth

At some events we record audio so we can take your waitlist or signup details. We confirm this with you in person before recording starts. Those recordings and transcripts follow the same retention rules as the rest of this notice.
